The Printer’s Devil Contest

Each year The Printer’s Devil contest recognizes outstanding essays from composition students at Arizona State University. The contest is open to all composition students, i.e., students who have completed or are currently enrolled in one of the following classes during the current school year (ENG 101, 102, 105, 215, 216, 217, 218).

Prizes
Last year’s first prize winners won $125, second prize winners $75, and third prize winners $50. The cash award is credited to their student accounts.

Submission Requirements
Entering the contest is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Students need to submit the following:
1) A copy of their paper. The paper must include a title and should not include their name or their instructor's name anywhere on the paper.
2) A completed entry form. The form can be downloaded at:
http://writing.asu.edu/files/PDentryform2010.doc
3) A copy of the assignment (if possible).

Where to Submit
Essays may be submitted electronically as noted on the downloadable form above. Hard copies may be turned in to Adelheid Thieme’s mailbox in LL 542.

Deadline for Submissions
Submissions are accepted throughout the year, and we strongly encourage early submissions. The deadline for submissions is May 4th, 2010, by noon.

RECOGNITION
Each May winners are recognized at the English Department’s Graduation and Awards ceremony. In addition, the winning essays are published here on the Writing Programs website.
